Full Review
When somebody says Hoobastank or Incubus are metal bands, I have to laugh. What is so metal about their music? Those bands are fairly good to be sure, but they sure as hell are not metal. Just like when glam metal was all the rage in the 80s, a lot of the bands that got lumped into that category that weren’t at all metal. I mean, you going to tell me Tesla and Extreme were metal? Get real.

A band like Disarray is a perfect example of what is metal. Sure, they aren’t all growls and bludgeoning guitars like Slipknot, but they are pretty brutal in their own right. Backed by members of GWAR on their current CD In the Face of the Enemy, Disarray comes on like a freight train with a sound that is equal parts death and thrash metal.

Finest of the songs to grace this album “Voice of Reason.” A song reminiscent of the music from Anthrax’s The Sound of White Noise; it totally assaults the senses until you have no choice but surrender to it. Other tracks such as “The Depths of Wreckage” and “The Powers That Be” also reflect the Anthrax vibe well while adding a measure of Slayer to the proceedings. An intense listen metal fans owe it to themselves to check out.
