Disarray - In The Face Of The Enemy

From the small indie Eclipse Records label comes Disarray. Just because it's an indie label, don't assume that this is their debut album because in fact it's not. Disarray is comprised of just 3 metal heads, Vance Wright on bass and vocals, Chuck Bonnett on lead vocals and guitar and Dave Peridore on drums. In The Face Of The Enemy combines several classic metal elements along with a few new ones to create their own unique sound. "Depths of the Wreckage" start things off with several musical changes. "To This Day" has a chorus that will ring in your head for days after getting the first earful of it. With a ringing guitar and open chords, "Voice Of Reason" clearly shows Disarray can groove with the best of them. Fasten your seat belt and hang on as "Open Wounds (Self Inflict)", and "I'll Be Standing" will clearly blow you out of your seat! The drums roll and the guitars crunch bones on "Neverending Quest For Revenge". Disarray is fresh off the road after a swing around the country with theatrical metalers GWAR (who's front man Dave Brockie produced this wonderful metal treat) "Path Of No Regrets" was sure to be one that stirred up the pits! Like taking another step up the staircase, "This World" elevates the tempo just one more notch. "Powers That Be" show a little bit of a blues influence to Chuck's guitar playing. Fear not as it blends very well with their style! "Burned Soul" has that slow grind into a high speed blender kind of feel to it....sort of like Crowbar's "All I Had, I Gave". You know the style! This metal juggernaut closes up shop with the acoustic intro and softer feel of "Life Is Gone". It's not as brash and raw as the other 10 tracks but it's a very unexpected and well placed surprise for the listener. You haven't heard anything like this before. Take the raw aggression that is contained in bands like Down, COC, Crowbar, Black Label Society and Meshuggah and you have Disarray. It's not all colorful with over production and samples it's just a turning of the knobs on the control panel and a lot of volume. Of course, none of it is possible without the likes of Chuck, Vance and Dave. Without them the instruments they play just collect dust. All serious headbangin' mofo's out there need to check this out! Get it and play it LOUD!!! For all the latest, be sure to check out the official Disarray website at http://www.disarrayonline.com
